In order to create a job seeker’s account on Our Website, you will be required to provide your name, email address, academic institution, Department/Centre, biography, photo, and areas of expertise.  

Information collected by Us from you under this paragraph 4 and paragraph 5 (see below) will be used to create a user account for you. We do not share your information with any third party (unless required to do by the law). We will not contact you other than to facilitate your use of the Website.

Your registration details with Us are personal to you. We do not force you to share such information with any third parties, and encourage you to take personal caution and responsibility when doing so voluntarily.

If We suspect or are made aware that your Website account is or may be mis-used or compromised, we reserve the right to suspend, restrict access to the Website or delete your account altogether. The aforesaid action(s) may be undertaken without any advance notice to you, and solely based on Our discretion.


Your Registration with Us for Jobs

In order to assist you finding a suitable role and opportunity, we may ask you to submit your search preferences. We will ask you to register to receive opportunities via email, tailored to your preference(s). Save as noted in paragraph 4, We will only use your email for this purpose.

We do not guarantee that any roles or opportunities shared with you via email will be suitable for you. It is up to you to decide whether you wish to apply for a suitable role. We do not provide any assurance(s) regarding the suitability of any roles.

The Website is a tool to connect users with opportunities offered by LSE, LSE Enterprise Ltd, and other users or third parties. Our Website only reproduces the contents of an advertisement and therefore offer no assurance as to its suitability. To the extent permitted by law, We accept no responsibility for the content of advertising material, including (without limitation), any error(s), omission(s) or inaccuracy therein.

Governing Law

These terms of use, their subject matter and their formation, are governed by English law. You and We both agree that the courts of England & Wales will have exclusive jurisdiction except that if you are a resident of Northern Ireland, you may also bring proceedings in Northern Ireland, and if you are resident of Scotland, you may also bring proceedings in Scotland.

  1. Our name and trade mark(s) are registered trademarks of the London School of Economics and Political Science. You are not permitted to use them without our prior written approval.
  2. You are not permitted to use Our Website other than for private, non-commercial purposes, including to search and apply for an opportunity, transferring to another website through links provided on Our Website, and making reasonable use of the options available on Our Website. The use of automated systems or software to extract data from Our Website for commercial purposes is prohibited unless you or a third party has received prior written consent from Us.
  3. You must not misuse Our Website by knowingly introducing viruses, trojans, worms, logic bombs or other material that is malicious or technologically harmful. You must not attempt to gain unauthorised access to Our Website, the server on which Our Website is stored or any server, computer or database connected to Our Website. You must not attack Our Website via a denial-of-service attack or distributed denial-of service attack. By breaching this sub-paragraph 9b, you would commit a criminal offence under the Computer Misuse Act 1990.
