Personal Summary

I am an international trade and investment law specialist and am passionate about global development through international trade and investment. I aim to contribute meaningfully to these areas of law and policy in leveraging existing a future efforts to the effective realization of development and sustainable development goals. 

Work Experience

Junior Associate
Aug 2020 - Feb 2022 BeraMasamba Law
  • Consulting on over 90 ongoing cross-jurisdictional multi-million-dollar transactions, mergers and acquisitions for multinational companies.
  • Advising 5 clients in the agriculture, technology and e-commerce, manufacturing and mining sectors through the negotiating, drafting and execution of high-level international contracts and transactions.
  • Leading and presenting research on the laws and policies of emerging regional economic communities (especially in Africa, South East Asia and Asia Pacific regions).
  • Leveraging specialist knowledge of trade and development policies in emerging regional economic communities as well as mega-regional preferential trade and investment agreements to advise on trade and investment related matters.
  • Chairing the Digital Innovation and Technology Committee and successfully drafting the firm IT and cyber– Security Policy.
  • Managing the establishment of a solar project in Zimbabwe in collaboration with the largest renewable energy consortium in Zimbabwe and leading a team of 3 colleagues and 4 external parties from the multi-national investor company.
  • Conducting trade policy analyses to advise on discrepancies between regional policies and national policies in Africa and proposing solutions to government representatives.

  • Assisted the WTO Secretariat with Dispute Settlement proceedings including the proceedings for DS 484 Indonesia – Chicken Products (Article 21.5 Compliance Proceedings) and with drafting the final panel report.
  • Contributed to the updating of the WTO Analytical Index and One-Page Case Summaries website.
  • Conducted extensive research including research on import bans for the DS 484 Indonesia – Chicken Products case and US – China intellectual Property disputes.
