Dr. António Valentim is a political scientist specialising in comparative and environmental politics, with particular expertise in voter and politician behaviour, climate policy, and public responses to extreme weather events. His work also explores how political messaging and campaigns shape public opinion and electoral outcomes.
Drawing on insights from social psychology and comparative politics, António uses a combination of econometric analysis, survey experiments, and qualitative interviews in his research. His work has been featured in journals such as Nature Climate Change and British Journal of Political Science.
António holds a PhD in Political Science from Humboldt University Berlin and was a postdoctoral researcher at Yale University.
