Somaliland Development Fund (SDF) Since the 1980s, Denmark has been a consistent development partner for Somaliland. In 2011, Denmark, along with the UK, Norway, and the Netherlands, established the SDF to align with Somaliland’s self-identified development priorities. Managed by an independent Fund Manager, the SDF has aimed to strengthen state capacity, enhance local ownership, and implement critical infrastructure projects. The overall purpose of this contract is to ensure the achievement of the development objectives jointly identified among the SDF3 donors. At the highest level, this includes for SDF3 to strengthen the climate resilience of vulnerable communities in Somaliland while creating increased income and job opportunities, and thereby helping to reduce poverty.
